More Information On Custom Christmas Cards

The holiday season is a great time to reconnect with family and old friends, both near and far. custom Christmas cards are the perfect way to say hi, send best wishes and update them on events in your life. Besides, receiving a card in the mail might make opening that electric bill a little more palatable!

Angels, Santa and Snowmen- oh my! There are so many holiday cards to choose from these days that the task might be a bit intimidating. How are you going to decide? The ‘divide and conquer’ method works. Simply divide the custom Christmas card aisle in half. In the first half, pick all of the ones that catch your eye for some reason. Repeat the process for the second half of the aisle. Gather up all your choices and head for the nearest bench, unoccupied corner or bare shelf space so that you spread out your selections and really study them. Read the inscriptions inside the cards. If it doesn’t give you a warm fuzzy feeling, put it aside. By process of elimination, hopefully you have narrowed it down to a select few.

Before you commit to one and head for the nearest cashier, think about your Christmas mailing list. How many people are on it? For close family and friends, you definitely want a custom Christmas card that is intimate and personal and reflects who you are. But what about the people you are friendly with, those casual acquaintances that you have through work, school or the neighborhood?

Picking a custom Christmas card can be a bit trickier because you do not know them as well. To err on the side of caution, choose cards reflecting a generic theme like “Seasons Greetings” or “Happy Holidays.” This is a safe alternative in case you have someone on your list whose religious beliefs do not allow them to celebrate Christmas.

Choosing more than one style of custom Christmas card is perfectly alright. Everyone likes something different and when keeping religious beliefs in mind, having more than one style is essential. Don’t forget! Purchase additional cards. You need those extras in case you forget someone or mess a few up in the handwriting process.

You can also make your own custom Christmas cards. Here’s where some creativity comes into play. Have your family dress up as elves and take a few pictures. Your photo developers can often make custom cards from your pictures. A cute caption for that photo could be, “A few of Santa’s helpers just wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas!” Or how about making signs for each family member spelling out “We Wish You A Merry Christmas” or some other greeting and take a picture of them holding the signs. That shot would be great for a custom Christmas card front cover.

One more thing to remember … stamps! These cards need to be mailed at least two weeks before Christmas. Nice selections of holiday stamps are available through the post office. Try to choose a style that would fit in nicely with your custom Christmas card theme. Once you have those cards in the mail, go home and relax with a hot cup of cocoa and wait for the mailman to bring you some of your own custom Christmas cards!
